Second Principle

2. I believe with perfect faith that G-d is One. There is no unity that is in any way like His. He alone is our G-d He was, He is, and He will be. (from the Ani Ma'amin)

  1. The second principle is that God is One. The Oneness of God is, perhaps, the very defining statement of the Jewish belief. What most do not recognize is the significance of this declaration. It is not simply that there is no other god besides God. It is a statement on the very nature of God -- that He is a simple Unity. He is not only One but also a Oneness. This is most difficult to understand but necessary, to reach Torah's objectives, for us to contemplate.

  2. What does absolute unity mean? What does it entail?
