This Special Discussion Forum was developed in conjunction with the presentation of a special 13 week series, entitled CREDO 13, on Maimonides' Principles of Faith that orginally aired in Ontario, in Spring 2005, on Sunday evenings, at 10:00 pm, on CTS. While this Discussion Forum is presented in connection with this program, viable participation in it is not limited to those who have seen the show.
The Fifth Principle is that only God is to be worshipped. In declaring that only God is to be worshipped, Rambam, in this principle is challenging the concept of intermediaries. God directly relates to the human being and so the human being can directly relate to God. Inherent within this statement is a futher principle -- the very fact that God relates to humanity. The God of Torah is not the god of Aristotle.
